I'm based in the UK and work remotely with agencies and in-house teams from New York to California. Umbraco development doesn't need someone in the same city, or even the same country, to be done properly.

What a UK working day looks like in US time

A typical working day runs roughly 9am to 7pm UK time, which is set up deliberately to reach across the Atlantic rather than stop at 5pm London time.

Figures assume UK time is 5 hours ahead of US Eastern; the actual gap shifts by about an hour for a few weeks each spring and autumn, since the UK and US don't change clocks on the same date.

In practice: 4–5 hours of live overlap with Eastern and Central for calls, 2–3 hours with Mountain and Pacific, and async collaboration through git, email and a shared task board the rest of the day. Most teams find this works fine after the first week.

Working remotely, from the US side

Do you only work remotely?

Yes. Every engagement is remote. I'm UK-based, and it's how the $700/day rate stays flat instead of having travel costs baked in. In practice that means screen-share calls, a shared task board, and code delivered through git, the same as any distributed team would use.

What if I'm in Alaska or Hawaii?

Coverage is currently focused on the 48 contiguous states. Got a project in Alaska or Hawaii? Get in touch anyway. The work itself doesn't change, it's just a bigger time-zone gap to plan around.

Do you work with New York teams specifically?

Yes. New York is Eastern time, one of the best-overlapping zones with a UK working day, four to five hours of live overlap most afternoons. Same $700/day rate and process as anywhere else in the 48 states, no New York premium.

Do you work with agencies, or only direct clients?

Both. A significant part of the work is subcontracted through US agencies that need extra senior Umbraco capacity, white-label if you'd prefer, or under my own name. See the services page for more on how that works.

Will you be available during my business hours?

For a good chunk of the day, yes. Working UK 9am to 7pm typically gives four to five hours of live overlap with US Eastern and Central, and two to three hours with Mountain and Pacific, plus async collaboration the rest of the day. See the time zone table above for specifics.

Do you handle state-specific accessibility or compliance requirements?

I build to WCAG 2.1/2.2 AA as standard practice, which covers most US accessibility expectations including ADA-related requirements. If your project has specific state or federal procurement requirements (like Section 508), flag them upfront and I'll work to that standard.
